What About The Theme & Symbols?

In order to achieve the right atmosphere from the series, the game comes with a bit of a retro look in terms of colours and design, however, the visuals are perfectly executed.

The series is known for its scenes of violent revenge prepared for anyone who crosses the bosses while featuring a dark and moody backdrop and an amazing soundtrack, written by Nick Cave. 

So, this is something the developers wanted to achieve as close as possible to original with creating the scene set within the Birmingham streets, showing buildings and stuff like cartwheels and wine barrels scattered around on both sides. 

Now, the most attractive thing about the design is its symbols, as it features some of the leading characters led by Thomas Shelby dressed in his known manner with a flat cup, followed by Michael, Aunt Polly and Arthur, as well as some playing card symbols.

Though the game doesn’t use the original soundtrack, the music accompanying the action fits the theme perfectly.

How Much Can We Bet?

Speaking of symbols, in addition to the aforementioned regulars, this gangster-themed slot comes with some specials too: a wild, Shelby betting shop scatter, By order of the peaky blinders scatter and regular bonus scatter.

The highest rewarding symbol is the Tommy Shelby, paying 20x for 5 across a pay line.

The Wild symbol can appear on all reels performing its regular substituting role for all symbols except scatters that appear on reels 1 and 3.

Though the series boasts numerous characters, the game doesn't follow in terms of the number of features, however, those present may just be enough to enhance the player experience.

Let's first see how to use two of the special Scatter symbols:

• Shelby Betting Shop feature – land a Shelby Betting Shop bonus symbol on reel 5 and all character symbols on the reels get a random money award. This is seen on a chalkboard to the right of the reels, and then, when the feature is finished, the total is summed up and paid out.
• By Order Of The Peaky Blinders – land By the order of the peaky blinders bonus symbol on reel 5 and all high-paying symbols, as well as wild symbols will remain in place while a Respin occurs. 

After this additional spin, all of these symbols will transform into one random character symbol.

What Is Our Verdict?

Pragmatic Play has done a fantastic job creating the visual aspects for this release, but what is a little disappointing is the relatively low maximum payout of just over 2,000x. 

Nevertheless, fans of the series will be eager to spin the reels and will be rewarded with some engaging features and slick gameplay, and, even those who have not seen the show will be surely attracted by the array of characters, menacing atmosphere and engaging soundtrack!
