Theme
Montezuma, or Moctezuma as the local name goes, is present on the reels, as are a few more romanticized characters from the era. The playing card ranks bring a few European influences into the mix. Betting Options and Functions
The megaways system is under license from Big Time Gaming. In case you haven’t played one of these games, here’s a recap on how it works:
- Instead of a fixed amount of symbols, each reel (in this case six) has a different number of symbols landing on each spin.
- Instead of landing symbols on paylines, all you need to do is land symbols on adjacent reels.
- Each position counts individually. This means that matching symbols per reel are simply multiplied in order to get the final number of winning paylines.
This is quite easy once you get the hang of it. The most important thing to understand is that due to the possibility of up to 117 649 ways to win, all individual wins are going to be rather small. In other words, megaways games tend to be high volatility games.
Features
Besides the normal megaways reels, there is also an additional one to be found on top of the reels. This top reel acts as an extra reel that can inject symbols anywhere between reels 2 and 5, thus completing winning combinations.
The game also comes with cascading symbols. This means that whenever a winning combination forms the symbols partaking will pay out the wins, explode away, only to have new symbols land and take their place. This keeps happening as long as new winning combinations are formed.
With three scatters you are guaranteed some extra spins. Landing two scatters will award you a spin in the multiplier wheel, with extra multipliers added to the running tally. On top of this, every time you land a cascading win the winning multiplier goes up by one.
