No idea who Marioni is, but he is putting on quite a show. This slot comes with plenty of entertainment beyond the actual gameplay, which itself, in turn, comes with plenty of features such as multipliers to keep you busy spinning. Playson doesn’t pride itself on well thought out games for nothing, as this slot keeps the action going on and the player interested even during long gaming sessions.
Theme
The first thing you’ll notice is the music, which reminds me of a circus for some reason or another. In any case, it is superbly done and there certainly is no reason to turn it off. The game itself seems like a magic show of sort, with Marioni orchestrating the reels from the sidelines. The theme sits well even if it is somewhat random. The symbols are a collection of all sort of medieval trickery, superbly done.
Betting Options and Functions
The reels offer the normal five times three setup, with ten fixed paylines running through them, from left to right as is the standard. Symbols offer a few selected cards, together with some medievally themed icons. Knights or all sorts, witches, dragons, ladies, and pans show up during the standard spins.
Betting is controlled via a simple stake button, which goes from 0.20 to 100 coins per spin. Three to five symbols are required to cash out, with the playing cards dishing out the smallest prizes. The minimum prize is half of your total bet, while the maximum is 25 times your total bet. If these seem a bit low, don’t worry - the special features come into play with multipliers.
Features
Every time you win, and this does mean every time, the croupier deals you three cards. Each card reveals a win multiplier, and if all the cards match your prize gets a considerable boost. During the main game, the multipliers go from double to quadruple, whereas during the free spins you can get three, five or seven times the wins.
When three scatters hit the lines you immediately win five times your total bet, as well as ten freespins. The spins play out much the same, except there are increased multipliers. The wilds here, and in the base game, do not only substitute for other symbols, but also for multiplier cards. Get three jokers from the wilds and you automatically get a tenfold multiplier for your wins.
When the two nights, representing light and darkness, go face in face a special bonus game fires. Here the knights slug it out in true medieval fashion, with the winner getting a considerable bonus of 15 free spins or a win multiplier of fifteen. Suffice to say, if you manage to land these at the end of your free spins you are looking at a substantial win.
Our Take
Marioni puts on quite a show. At first, the slot looks like it doesn’t have any proper wins, but as soon as you get the multipliers rolling that changes. After that, the free spins and bonus games are just added fun and wins. Be warned though, volatility it somewhat high here. If you haven’t tried this slot yet you should do so immediately; it is something different.
