Lucky Koi uses a regular layout with 3 icons on each of its 5 reels. The neat difference is that reel icons appear to float above a crystal clear pond. Some of these even appear to swim or float on the surface whenever they appear in a winning combination (the dragonfly looks particularly good).

The music is unmistakably oriental, unique and in my opinion downright annoying. It should be celebrated that Microgaming has included a unique track, but it’s a shame its not more likeable. Lucky Koi is a nice addition to Microgaming’s lineup. That said it isn’t one of their best slots, but will satisfy gamblers who prefer classic style video slots opposed to their blockbuster titles such as The Dark Knight rises et al.
