Konami has released numerous, countless one could say, games for arcades and home entertainment systems. Video slots are not what they are most known of, but it should come as no surprise they have a foothold in this industry as well. Lotus Land comes with retroistic graphics and a theme presumably set in Thailand, the land of lotus. There are many reasons why the flower is famous, though in this game it only serves as background setting and not as a reference to the drug culture.

Theme

The lotus flower itself works as a scatter, while other symbols such as tigers, elephants, princess, and the usual nine to ace card ranks work as the base of paying symbols. Five reels in three rows form the rather standard reel setup. The background seems to be of some famous temple complex, though I can’t quite put my finger on which one. Music and sound effects have gained very little attention, which unfortunately decrease the gaming experience somewhat.

Betting Options and Functions

The game comes with thirty paylines, and a minimum bet of thirty credits, or in other words one per line. You can go all the way up to 50 credits per line, which will do quick work of even the biggest bankroll. BHow credits translate to real money is up to the casinos to decide though.

You can expect quite high volatility here, which is why you should be careful with your betting. When wins do hit they tend to cascade quickly, thanks to the thirty paylines. Winning combinations run from left to right, with pay outs starting from twice your line bet to 600 times the line bet.

Features

The main feature in Lotus Land is the free games. Three, four or five lotus flowers on the reels trigger 8, 12 or 20 free games respectively. Two, three, four, or five lotus flowers during the free games trigger additional 5, 8, 12, or 20 free spins. As always, it requires a lot of luck to make all this happen.

During free spins, the wild symbols transform into new dimensions, as it also works as a multiplier dishing out up to five times the line wins. It still functions as a wild as well, replacing all other symbols. These stack up, so you can receive quite big wins during free spins. Safe to say this is where the real big wins happen.

Our Take

Lotus Land is a rather standard slot, with some added graphics and free spins to keep you spinning. One would have expected a bit better from Konami. Though I have to say that I wasn’t able to say when this game was originally launched, so maybe it is one of those classic games ported to modern devices. It does work both on desktop and mobile devices. High variance comes with high wins if you manage to land the free spins, so perhaps this one is worth a try with the lowest bet level.
