A cartoonish safari adventure with royal themes, perhaps the first of its kind? Though to be honest the theme is probably from the aftermaths of the Madagascar series of animated movies. Whatever the case there’s plenty of royalty and riches on the lines with free spins and wild wins for the lucky spinner. Theme

Enter the safari and on the right, you will spot a monkey chilling with a drink in his hand, and on the left the pride of jungle standing tall with a gold chain around his neck. So, the theme is definitely cartoonish, mixing the usual subjects of the jungles and savannahs with riches that are usually to be found in slots. The sound effects at least are devoid of any other connotations than those of the sounds found in deep jungles.

Betting Options and Functions

As you’d expect the win lines run from left to right, with three to five symbols needed along them to cash in the small and big prizes. There’s a total of 25 paylines, though you can select how many are in play in ascending order. The bet is selected as per line, and it can run from 0.01 to a full coin. This is a very cheap slot to play but the volatility seems to be extremely high. At least in our testing, the wins were far and few in-between.

This is probably because the max payout from this slot is 2000 times the bet per line. This is achieved by lining up five wilds. The monkey, for some reason, is the second most important symbol, dishing out a thousand times the bet per line. The lion can pay up to 500, and from there on the trend continues down with the hunter, giraffe, elephant, zebra, and parrot paying between 50 and 250 times the bet. The lower range, that is three symbol combinations, pay between 10 and 200 times the line bet.

Features

The diamond ring symbol is the scatter, and when enough are on the lines free spins are awarded. Three, four, and five give out one, three, and ten bonus spins respectively. These are played with the same bet as the triggering round. The spins offer no more functionality than this.

The wild substitutes for all other symbols, and when five are on a line it offers the biggest prize in the game. Three or four wilds, unfortunately, offer nothing except substitution.

Our Take

Extremely high variance and lack of proper special features make this sort of a lame slot. The prizes offer quite a nice amount of coins to be had, but there are plenty of other factors that detract from the gameplay experience. This slot is quite old so it simply can’t compete with more modern games. You might still like it, but certainly first try it in demo mode, or just go for newer slots from Mr Slotty.
