Theme and Symbols

Lava and volcanoes are a somewhat popular theme, and in case you agree there probably isn’t much of anything new here graphically or soundwise. 

What you do find on the reels is still a pretty solid collection of symbols and effects, as well as the usual high-quality graphics from Yggdrasil that look good on mobile and desktops devices alike. Betting Options and Functions

25 paylines spread across six reels of four symbols each isn’t a lot to go on with, and must be some sort of record on a low number of paylines. Don’t let that get to you, as the game still manages to land winning combinations...and with the features they land even more often.

Also worth noting that this number of paylines keeps the bet low, and as you’re glad to notice, the wins high. The top score from this slot is 2 500 times your line bet. Smaller wins range between 5 and 25 times your line bet, whereas most five symbol combos settle over a hundred times your line bet.

Features

Any winning spin will trigger a respin, with all symbols rolling on the reels for another winning chance. At the same time, the flow of lava starts growing up, eventually merging two of the four middle reels into a single reel.

Any further winning spins trigger more respins which triggers an even hotter flow of lava. The colossal lava reel starts growing in size, eventually taking over all of the middle reels (which means there’ll be a mega symbol there).

The above will then activate the hyper spins. This mode starts with a multiplier of two, with each consecutive respin increasing the multiplier with one, up to 10x the original.

Our Take

Yggdrasil’s Hyper Burst banks on its features, which turns out to be an excellent choice. High variance results in empty spins, but the trade-off is worth it when the symbols land your way, one respins after another.
