Interest in the Highlands of Scotland is at an all time high at the moment. People which have seen Braveheart, or more recently Brave, will know this to be true. Highlands is an interesting video slot which is based upon a cast of characters from the deepest depths of Scotland. Highlands Theme

The hills and mountains of Scotland provides the inspiration for this slot. They can be seen around the reels whilst the icons upon them give a glimpse into both the past and present.

Reel icons include a highland man, highland women, golf clubs, crowns, helmets, shields and enemy warriors. There's also a lineup of poker inspired icons which include 9, 10, J, Q, K and A figures.

Visual animations are paired with suitable sound effects and music. Some of the sounds are recycled from other machines but we're glad to see some bespoke ones have been used.

Our Take on Highlands

Highlands is more Braveheart than Disney’s Brave; but it’s interesting all the same. We enjoyed the animations and the bonus features are useful too; it’s a shame an additional bonus round isn’t included although the progressive game would be epic if you unlocked it.
