Spinmatic’s Galacnica is a visually appealing outer space-themed slot. Though there are sticky wilds with automatic re-spins, there is no bonus feature; worse still, the RTP is disqualifyingly low.

Theme

Though this game ultimately disappoints, it has many charming elements, chief among them its design. The five reels are set above a crater-rich planet deep in space, with nebulas, meteors, and distant stars in the background. Gaming symbols include some wild space creatures, such as a regal set of lips with a single eye inside, a yellow jellyfish-like alien, and a green and purple dinosaur, as well as space suits with the playing card values ace through jack. A green lizard in a space helmet acts as wild, appearing on the middle reels and expanding to cover the entire reel while triggering a re-spin. A campy soundtrack keeps the game atmosphere light and playful.

Betting Options and Functions

Spinmatic’s excellent design team proves that intelligent life can be found beyond the earth’s atmosphere, as well as within it. There are 10 paylines, each of which pays in both directions Bet level is set simply from 0.10–40.00 times the betting currency per spin. Autoplay is available for up to 100 spins, or without limit, with optional loss limits available on a separate screen. Player options, payline information, game rules, quick spin, and more are available via an expanding menu at the upper right corner of the game screen. The overall theoretical return to player ratio is profoundly disappointing at 92.97%.

Features

The closest thing this slot has to a bonus feature is its wild symbol, which does quite a bit more than just substitute for other symbols in order to form winning combinations. Whenever this green, extra-terrestrial friend appears, it immediately expands to fill the entire reel. It will then remain in place for an automatic re-spin.

Should a second wild symbol appear on the re-spin, it too will expand, and both wilds will remain on the reels for a second free re-spin… this can happen a third time as well, but no more, as wilds appear only on the middle three reels.

Our Take

Spinmatic really should know better than to release a game like this… the visual design is wonderful, and the sticky wild feature makes every play exciting. But declining to include any bonuses, not every a gamble feature, makes it hard to stay with this title for long. Worst of all, however, is the criminally-low RTP. Players can find better odds at just about any slot on the market, and are encouraged to do so.
