A beautiful sorceress awaits you in her hut. Your mission is to brew the luckiest winning potion of all time to bring home the fortunes of magic. Though R. Franco has produced this game with some 3D graphics, they soon turn out to be a bit outdated. The gameplay itself still works fine though. In addition to line prizes, you can land a bonus feature, where the truly magical prizes are hidden.
Theme
What opens up before your eyes is a house of magic. A pot is brewing with ingredients added in every time the reels form a combination of wins. There’s a sorceress here to help you as well, though her help mostly seems to consists of nervously switching legs. Ominous drum music plays in the background, while the magical ingredients pop in and out of existence on the reels.
Betting Options and Functions
There are twenty paylines running through the standard five times three reel setup. All of them connect from left to right. Betting is controlled via the bet selector, which gives you several options between 0.01 and five coins per line.
There’s plenty of different ingredients, with similar ones naturally creating the winning combinations. Payouts are highly volatile, with the top symbol paying out 10 000 times the line bet while the 2nd most valuable symbol will net you 500 times your line for a five symbol combination. The rest of the symbols pay out between 5 and 200 times your line bet.
Features
The game has an extra reel feature, which at first sight is a bit confusing, mostly because very little instructions come with the game. Whenever a wild shows up on the reels you get the change to re-roll the symbols in some reels. No extra reel is actually added, instead, the new symbols might just create new winning combinations. Sometimes this pays off, but not always.
Landing the bonus symbol gives you the highest wins, and also free spins. Initially, between 9 to 5 are awarded, with the possibility of retriggering the feature and winning up to 30 free spins. These spins are played with only five winlines, and with a different reel setup. Only three symbols are needed to win, and the prizes are actually higher than in the base game.
Our Take
The game is somewhat outdated. This is an achievement by itself, as there are plenty of classic games that are not outdated. This is mostly due to the graphics, which remind me of the early ages of 3D productions. Thus the burden falls on the gameplay itself, which unfortunately doesn’t quite manage to hold up to expectations. It’s, of course, nice if you win the major prize here, but also quite unlikely. One major deficiency of the game are the instructions, these are a bit lacking and don’t even properly explain the bonus features. Definitely try in demo mode first.
