Divine Carnival

Divine Carnival is set in the (now sinking) city of Venice at the height of its glory. This is no Brazilian carnival, instead what you have on the screen is a collection of masks, fireworks and mysterious characters.

The game uses your standard 5x3 grid setup, but spices things up with 25 pay-lines that pay both ways!

There is also a whole host of special features that can be added to the mix, but we’ll save the surprise of those for later in this review.

Theme

The city reveals itself in all its glory to the backdrop of night skies, with the occasional fireworks and lanterns illuminating the landscape.

This is quite a heavy game and takes a bit to load, which means that there’s a whole host of animations to enjoy. This includes the background, with sailing ships and more.

Characters and playing card ranks play the role of symbols, and they do so exceedingly well. Audio effects add even more mystery to the reels.

Betting Options and Functions

The game has a bit of slow pace, so it’s not the best slot for turboplayers. Others will enjoy the classic reel setup Fugaso has made together with the both-ways pay system.

There is a total of 12 normal symbols, and these will dish out wins between 2 and 500 times your line bet. The variance seems to be medium, at least according to how often wins drop down.

The interface is quite slick, though at first you might be taken back by how many settings and buttons there are. Might be a bit crowded on a mobile screen, but plays just as well.

Features

When a scatter shows up on the first or last reel a respin will be triggered. Scatters and wilds are frozen in place for this. When a scatter shows up on the first and the last reel it’s a whole another game of bonus rounds.

You will be immediately awarded with 24 extra spins. Every time the scatter shows up you will get 12 more, and if again the scatters show simultaneously you get 24 more spins.

During the bonus games, an extra function appears:

The Clock Wilds places a wild at the center of the reels, as well as another one to orbit it. Like a dancer, the second wild whirls around the first one, moving one place for each spin. As you can imagine…

…with both ways pays this will result in guaranteed wins on almost every spin!

Our Take

This is a slot that, at first, will enchant you with the theme only. The start might be quite slow, but once you get to the bonus games you will find a whole new world of wins and spins.

The Clock Wilds really work their way around the reels, resulting in a guaranteed pot every time the feature activates. Land more scatters and it just gets better!
