Once upon a time, vampire-themed games were all the rage there was. Betsoft’s attempt to get a slice of that market was not as successful as with other producers, mainly because they are quite a few years late. That doesn’t mean Blood Eternal is a bad slot, merely that it is a bit overshadowed by the big hits. There indeed is plenty of reasons to keep spinning the reels, even if the theme isn’t for you. Big wins, bonus features and attention to detail make this an interesting game that is worth trying.
Theme
Eternal blood is an obvious reference to vampires, and the fact that that the words are reversed should be telling enough of the aristocratic qualities of old-time bloodsuckers. The music creates an eerie atmosphere of impending action, with winning combinations creating rather cheerful sound effects to balance this out.
Blood vials, vampires and humans and soon to be vampires, the bats, crosses, castles, holy water, and gargoyles form up the collection of paying symbols. There’s also a few card values to add some low-level wins, as well as the wild to add extra possibilities on the six reels. An old castle, or library, works as the background setting.
Betting Options and Functions
Each coin has a value of 0.01 to 1, and you can bet up to five coins per line. There’s a total of thirty paylines so that the total bet can be anything from 0.30 to 150 coins per spin. Winning combinations are formed from both left and right. Three to six symbols are required for a prize.
The prizes range from double your line bet to 750 times your line bet. The most significant possible win is 12 000 coins, though this comes via the bats which is a bit of a special symbol. The bat comes in two varieties, of which the other one is the double bat, which of course counts as two symbols. If you get six of them on a win line you are in for one big payday. Max win from any single spin is somewhere around 900 000 coins.
Features
Whenever a vampire and human symbols are next to each other on the reels the free spins bonus feature is launched. Vampire symbols only appear on reels two and five, whereas humans are only on reels three and four; in other words, it’s not with every spin that both are on the screen. Eight free spins are given, with the triggering symbols held in place as sticky wilds. With each spin, one to four more wilds are added to the reels for each human-vampire combo. There can be up to eight extra wilds. The more vampires and humans the better!
During the basic game, you can double up any win with the gamble feature. You can choose to gamble the whole pot or just half of it. Then simply choose heads or tails and see whatever comes out! As usual, the chances to win are 50 - 50.
Our Take
Blood Eternal offers quite a high variance, meaning that it’s not a game for everyone. If you are willing to risk the bankroll for some possible big wins then you might just fall in love with this game.
