Theme

The game draws inspiration from common piracy themes. Black flags, ghost skulls, ships of the line, gunpowder and of course hidden treasures and plunder. You’ll find plenty of pirate lingo on the reels, and the sound effects include the lulling sounds of the seas and the screeches of seagulls.

The music is surprisingly versatile, and perhaps the most surprising part of the slot. Though we earlier mentioned that the graphics look a bit aged this turns out not to be the case once you play for more than a handful of spins. It’s simply that the style is very carefully crafted and full of details that show up even on smaller mobile screens.

Betting Options and Functions

The slot is played on a normal reel setup: five reels with three symbol positions each. There are twenty paylines, with connection forming from left to right. The stake starts from 0.20 coins and tops out at 40 coins per spin. The eight basic symbols don’t offer anything spectacular, paying out between 0.2 and 25 times the line bet.

This is just as well, given the multitude of special features that are in play. The interface for this game is aimed more towards desktop devices, but it is just as easy to use on mobile devices. The basic game offers no big surprises. However, in true pirate style, there are true treasures to be uncovered once you manage to launch a bonus feature.

Blackbeard himself is the bonus symbol. Once three are in view on reels one, three, and five you are taken to the bonus screen. You get to choose between three options here: Pirate Spins, Sea Battle, or Super Spins.

The Pirate Spins let you plunder the reels, but be careful as you only have three ships to do so with. Every time a ghost shows up, Blackbeard will battle it, and if he loses - you will lose a ship (or a life as they call it). The spins also come with superwilds that stick on the reels for the entire feature.

In the Sea Battle the reels will keep spinning as Blackbeard battles the other pirates. For each bonus symbol you take a shot at the enemy, whereas for each Pirate Wild they fire back! Sinking pirates will increase your win multipliers.

The Super Spins are quite simple: each and every wild that lands transform into a super wild, landing you an additional re-spin. There is also a random feature with pirate skulls that grants random bonuses!
