The five reels take centre stage with a clever background which resembles a bank volt. The design includes iron bars, alarm lights and the Beat The Bank logo which is located above the central reel.
The reels offer a mixture of standard slot machine and bespoke icons. You’ll find 9, 10, J, Q, K, A, night guard, security cameras, diamonds, blueprints, bank robbers and safe icons spread across all five reels. The most impressive animation is reserved for the thief himself whilst others also offer impressive levels of detail.
Sound effects are largely the same as other Cryptologic slots with a few unique ones thrown in for good measure. To be fair it is fairly difficult to think of suitable sound effects to accompany a thief, what with them being ‘cat like’ quiet and all.
The variety in the design is carried through onto the betting options which range from 0.05 to £/$/€200 per total bet. This gives plenty of options which is inclusive of the entire population of gamblers regardless of their budget.
Curiously the paytable is named ‘info’ on this slot which is conveniently located on the lefthand side.
Beat the Bank Slot Features
The Thief icon can sub for other icons to help complete more winning combinations. This isn’t its only function though and you’ll find it popping up frequently.
The Thief icon also awards 15 free spins when present on reels 2, 3 and 4 at the same time. During free spins any wins are trebled and should the icon appear on the reels again more free spins will be awarded.
The Beat The Bank bonus feature is awarded when 3 or more bonus scatters (Safe symbol) occur. You are presented with two identical locked safes and asked to choose one which will reveal a 2x multiplier or will be uncrackable.
You continue to choose safes in this way until you strike out, at which point your triggering bet is multiplied by the multiplier gained during the round. Not only is this game exciting but also has the potential to pay well because the maximum multiplier is 1024 times your triggering bet.
