Even mild-mannered players of legal slot games have to walk on the other side of the law from time to time, and Bank Robbery provides the chance to do just that. Multislot seems to have found a formula for their game design: players can reliably expect solid gameplay, a better-than-usual RTP, and a fun theme, but very little in the way of bonus features. Bank Robbery reinforces this impression.
Theme
Police and thieves are in the streets in Bank Robbery. Gaming symbols include a mustachioed policeman, an extremely poorly-disguised criminal, a police car, helicopter, pistols, and playing card symbols valued ace through queen. A blue badge acts as the wild symbol, while a green dollar bill acts as scatter. Behind the reels stands a picture somewhere between a child’s crayon drawing and Renaissance fresco depicting a bank robber, a sack of cash in hand, running from an angry policeman. The soundtrack might have been lifted directly from a 1990s Atari game, but its sirens do fit well into the larger design.
Betting Options and Functions
Betting is controlled by manipulating both the number of paylines, which are adjustable from one to 25, and coin value per payline, which can be set from a minimum of 0.05 to 5.00 – this means a total per-spin bet range from 1.25 to 125.00 times the betting currency. Autoplay is available up to 100 spins, with optional stops for single win and total loss limits determined by the player. Pop-up menus explaining payouts and game rules are also on offer. The theoretical RTP is a truly excellent 97.66%.
Features
Judging this slot as well as previous offerings, bonus features remain the fatal flaw of Multislot’s games. Three or more scatter symbols trigger free spins, which can be retriggered within bonus play and during which all scatter symbols also act as wild. However, the design team offers no win multipliers, extra features, or even change of graphics for bonus play: it’s exactly the same as base play, except in that players are spared the cost of the initial bet.
Our Take
Bank Robbers have been made into celebrities for very long time, and have become a model of folk heroes, heirs to the lore of Robin Hood. This slot raises a question, though: if robbing the bank is only slightly more exciting than using the ATM outside, why bother with the adventure at all? Once again, the software has built a well-constructed game with an outstanding RTP, that might have placed it among the most profitable slots available, if it weren’t so boring. A slot without features is likely to appeal to very few players for long.
