Theme and Symbols

Though the Aztec pyramids were anything but a place of peace, in this game they look quite tranquil, especially with the rolling clouds and other animations. The quality of the graphics is supreme, and not just the overall details on that note, but also about colour choices and symbols. Everything looks and sounds good, but that’s just one of the many reasons to try the game.

Betting Options and Functions

This slot uses both way pays, which means that the combinations can connect from leftmost and rightmost reels. The play area is a bit bigger than normal, with six reels of six symbols each. Through these, you have only 20 paylines, which makes for quite an interesting setup.

The wins on offer are quite impressive, especially with the two-way pays. You can score up to 500 times your line bet. This further combined with the medium variance means that there is no lack of symbol combos showing up on the reels.

Features

All the action is on the wild symbols in this slot. They have their normal job of substituting for any other winning symbol, but also offer something extra in addition…

In fact, two things extra. Whenever a wild lands on any position it will immediately expand into a cross, taking over positions vertically and horizontally. In other words, a single wild will always become five wilds.

Secondly, a wild will always trigger a re-spin. Land another wild during the re-spin? Get another re-spin….and so forth. This will continue until no more wilds land or until all positions are covered by wilds. In the latter case, get ready to win 10 000 times your line bet!

Our Take

Aztec Respin uses a common native-American theme, and does so with a style that is both unique and refreshing. Though the theme is quite common the resulting gaming experience is not. It’s rare that this sort of games result in something completely new, so kudos to Skywind for achieving the near impossible!
