With the term bomb in the name of the slot, it should be no surprise that this game features explosions that leave massive wins on the reels. Using the adjacent win system certainly fits the theme as well. The game tries to capture a feeling of old arcade halls with the retro look, and at first glance seems to be doing a pretty good job at that.
Theme
The background is filled with neon colors and different shapes moving back and forth. Not exactly the most complicated of animations but good enough to provide a nice setting to play to. The symbols are the all-time favorite setup of all slot players: cherries, lemons, oranges, strawberries, melons, bars, bells and seven. The audio side of things is not spectacular but drives its purpose just as well.
Betting Options and Functions
There are twenty paylines, with all combinations formed from left, right, or the middle. As there are five reels this means that as long as three symbols are on a payline and are adjacent the prize will be paid. The betting is controlled via the total stake button, as in all other Red Tiger Gaming slots. In theory, the range is from 0.20 to 500 coins, but in use, the upper range is usually limited to 60 or 100 coins.
The sevens are the most valuable symbol and five of them will pay up to a thousand times your line bet. No small sum, regardless of your bet level. The remaining symbols quickly go down in value, with the bells paying out 250, and the bar 120 times the line bet. The low-value symbols offer between 4 and 50 times your line bet for a three to five symbol combination.
Features
Only one feature here! The bombs, of which there are four, appear randomly on screen as symbols. Each bomb has a different color and a different blast pattern. Some blast criss-cross, while others take the whole reel or the whole row. Each time a bomb lands it gets a timer on it, counting down the number of spins until it will explode. This is useful as if more bombs land in the vicinity they get caught in the blastwave and explode as well.
When the bombs explode all the spaces that were blown away are filled with randomly selected identical symbols. What this means, together with the adjacent pay system, is that each explosion is pretty much a guaranteed win. Though you still need to land several bombs to make the most out of this.
Our Take
Arcade Bomb is one of those slots with a simple premise that manages to hook you and keep you spinning. The game offers quite low volatility. Though the wins at times are a bit meaningless you at least tend to get back your money's worth. And when the bombs explode just right you can expect some massive coin showers!
