Adventure Saga

The line between video games and slot games is growing thinner and thinner, with the slots drawing a lot of inspiration from popular culture. Or at least that is the case when it comes to themes, playability and graphics.

Adventure Saga has the reels full of gear and the background comes with a story to tell. The main attraction still comes in the form of wins and prizes you can land by collecting those symbols into neat combinations.

How does it all work out?

Theme and Symbols

Right from the start, you’re drawn in with the theme and graphics. The style is fit for comic books...but not the sort that you’ll find in newspapers or cartoons, rather more in the Conan the Barbarian style. It’s hard to describe the sound effects, except that they fit the reels full of swords, potions, grimoires and treasures.

…unfortunately, the theme doesn’t really deliver what the first look promises...even if everything is done to the highest standard. Perhaps our expectations were simply too high? It’s not much of a saga.

Betting Options and Functions

Wild is the most important symbol in the game, paying up to 1000 times your line bet...and that’s a win you can score via thirty different paylines, stretched around five reels of three symbols each. 

The smallest wins is 2 times the line bet, which is nowhere near to score even returns. On the other hand, the smallest five symbol win is 50 times the line bet, and that’s the only one that dips under hundreds in returns. Obviously, this is something of a high variance slot. 

You’re also free to deactivate paylines in batches of five, and even play with just one payline. Generally, that isn’t really all that of a great idea, but if you really want to play with a bet of one penny...you can do so here.

Features

The scatter can land on the second, third and fourth reels. When it lands on all three at the same time a game of bonus spins begins. The player receives 10 bonus spins, and on top of that a double multiplier for all wins. This is quite welcome, as the main win is now 2000 times the line bet.

Besides the extra spins, you can also use the classic gamble feature. Red or black card? Guess right and double your win, get it wrong and go back to the reels with nothing to show for it.

Our Take

7Mojos hasn’t gone the most adventurous route with their Adventure Saga slot. They start off strong with excellent graphics, but the game soon falls flat and becomes pretty much a standard slot. It’s not bad at what it does, and there certainly are wins to be had and bonus spins to be played out...but if you were looking for a bit more adventurous theme and game, look elsewhere.
