BBIN has been a prominent iGaming provider in Asia for quite a while, and in the business since 1999.

However, for most of this history they seem to have been a regional sports betting provider in Asia, only entering the international stage in 2015. The company has its headquarters located in the Philippines.

Today the company seems to be continuing on the same trajectory, increasing their sports coverage, adding lin live casino games, but also producing a line of their own slots. They’ve gone as far as sponsoring teams and events, and this also includes eSports.

However, the company isn’t widely recognised around the world yet. They have so far been pretty much stuck to their core market areas in Asia. This seems to be changing, with more and more online casinos welcoming at least part of the gaming selection into their offering.

Let’s see what it all includes.

Casino Gaming

In this category we will find online slots. These seem to be produced as something that comes with their platform, a sort of additional service.

As such, it comes as no surprise that pretty much all of them are just copies of your classic slot setup. At least this holds true when it comes to the majority of titles available.

That means using a five reel setup with three symbols on each reel. Paytable determines wins through paylines. There is some variation, and some of the more modern slot titles even use ways to win to determine wins. Still, they do not break away from the monotony of scatters, wilds and bonus spins as the core special features. This is another aspect that could do with some more work.

Don’t expect any big surprises in this area. It’s more than likely that the company has let their partners do most of the talking when it comes to online slots. However, there is some indication that more diverse setups are coming. That is definitely needed if the company wants to make it in the western online casinos, which already boast thousands upon thousands of very diverse slots.

It seems like the company also used to produce scratch cards, though there isn’t much information available about these at the moment. Given that BBIN seems to have been in business for decades, and how that business has changed through the decades, it’s likely that the depth of gaming products is far greater than what it currently seems. It’s just that most of it has been left in the past, whilst other areas have necessitated complete modernisation.

Live Games

Both conventional live casino games and those of a fresher era are present in the selection.

Obviously, the selection is geared towards Asian players, but that’s something that is fast changing, given that the company has embarked on a journey to welcome all international players. These games are often offered to online casinos via partners of the company, such as Gamingsoft.

The interface is quite similar to many other Asian live casino providers. The actual video feed doesn’t necessarily take up the most space, although this is quite different if you happen to be playing on a mobile device. A lot of space is left for statistics, where applicable, revealing the results of past played rounds. Not that this would have an effect on any future rounds, but it might sometimes have an effect on how your luck plays out.

We can’t say it looks like the most modern setup, but it does work quite well. After all, you only need to set your bet and watch the round play out much like in other live casino games. English seems to be a supported language for now, but otherwise the core area is with Asian languages and market areas.

In short, there’s a lot of work that will have to go into making the live casino the preferred product for players across the world. And there’s plenty of competition in this area. But likewise, the set of players who know the company from their original market area are likely going to stick with them.

Sportsbook

Surprisingly, sport book is not something that there is a whole lot of information available. Despite the fact that the company’s social media channels are chock-full of different materials from sports around the world. You definitely have different motorsports, tons of content on soccer, and the eSports we mentioned earlier.

And whilst the company is very active in this area, not much is revealed on the specific. If you want to have an overview of what they offer, and if it is indeed their own offering and not something they offer via partners, you will have to take a look at the online casinos that provide these services.

On the whole, sports betting seems to be something that the company is really invested in. Definitely more than they are in their live casino products, or their countless casino games. SB Tech seems to be one of their partners, and they are indeed a sports betting solution, so this whole area might be a product mainly for their white-label partners across the world.

Licenses and Awards

Whilst the products are certified by Gaming Laboratories International, a very respected company in their own right, BBIN itself doesn’t seem to hold any licenses. This is probably because their main market areas like China, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand don’t really have online iGaming licensing systems. This is something that the company definitely needs to concentrate on if they are to compete with licensed casinos across the world.

What the company does lack in this area it more than makes up with awards of all sorts. They have a constant presence in industry events, and they often pick up an award or two at these. Asia Gaming Awards, EGR, Sigma Awards, Global Gaming Awards, and other similar events often shortlist the company for various categories. Perhaps not something that the average casino player so much cares about, but once again something that their partners keep a keen eye on.

Interpretation

BBIN is something of an odd bird. They have been in the business since 1999, but as they have operated outside what could be considered the major area of iGaming they have mostly gone unnoticed. Asia as such is an emerging market, even if some operators have been there for decades.

Of course, language barrier plays a role too. If you take a look at the YouTube channels and Facebook social media site, you will notice that they still mostly target local players. What information is available is most likely simply not available in English. On the other hand, the fact that such content is slowly becoming present, means that the company is trying to increase their reach.

But what is it that they really produce and offer players?

Our best guess is that this company is more of a white-label producer than they are actually a game maker. They do offer some slots, and they still seem to publish new ones regularly. Yet, for decades of work their selection is quite small, matched by most small time providers rather easily. The quality is on par with the quantity, not really offering any surprises. At least for those of us who are used to the vast selection of slots available online today.

And then there is the sports section. It seems to be all the company talks about, especially big popular international events. Esports likewise is often brought to the frontpage. But facts seem to suggest that this is actually a third-party product, which they simply offer via their platform for interested online casinos.

Their live casino does show promise, though the interface requires some work. It supports mobile play, but we aren’t entirely sure it’s purpose-made for that case. The gaming offers a wide range of table games from Roulette to Sic Bo, though game shows are so far missing. No mention of the studios can be found, but given that the company is located in the Philippines there’s a good chance that’s where the studios are as well.

Our judgment? Keep an eye on them. They have the capability to surprise you, by simply offering a range of products hitherto unavailable in western markets. And if you’re an Asian casino player, you more than likely know what they are capable of, and can enjoy our list of suggested online casinos.
