I have not herd the name Golden Phoenix in over a decade. I worked there about 12 years ago, high roller guest attendant. The casino was so-so and overall the lack of advertising and mediocre attractions led to its closing reletavely close to its opening. The above poster must have been referencing a " funny story" that happened about 10 years ago, minimum. Lol.

Funny story here . While visiting at mother in laws , we took the short trip to Reno to gamble . We all took our usual lil bank roll and planned for an afternoon early evening of gambling and eating . We ate til I thought I was going to pop . Felt a little sluggish that day so kinda slothed around the casino floor tinkering...

We all took our usual lil bank roll and planned for an afternoon early evening of gambling and eating . We ate til I thought I was going to pop . Felt a little sluggish that day so kinda slothed around the casino floor tinkering on slots. My mother in law seemed raring to go and had her heart set on getting a slot JP. We split up and roam separately a lot , my wife took off and mother in law in diferent direction . The place isn't as huge as most and we all stayed and hovered around the dollar machines . As I kept circling I would pass my mother in law getting mader and mader as you can hear her getting frustrated louder and louder . She was being followed by a little ol lady who would literally stalk her and jump on the machine she was done playing and hit it big almost everytime..lol This went on for a good portion of the day til we finally had to take her out of there or I thought she was gonna harm that woman. LOL funny now but not at the time . This isn't the first time Ive seen people do this its pretty common , but I don't let it get to me or I'll leave for a bit and lose them ....let them feed off someone else . Anyway I was tickled. The casino was a nice one and I had a good time , family entertained me and the food was good.
