Village Pub & Casino-Wigwam

The Village Pub & Casino-Wigwam is a pretty typical video poker bar and restaurant located in a somewhat residential area of Las Vegas, Nevada, roughly six miles Southeast of the Las Vegas Strip and three miles south of the McCarran International Airport. This video poker bar has a very interesting location in that it is roughly equidistant from the Las Vegas Strip to the North and Henderson Nevada to the East. That makes this a really good stopping point if you enjoy, "Casino-Hopping," and have a Gambler's Bonus players club card. This video poker bar is one of nine locations for this chain which is owned by the same group that owns the Ellis Island Casino & Brewery on Koval near the Las Vegas Strip. These locations have limited licenses in which it is stipulated that they are essentially to garner as much revenue from their restaurant/bar operations as gambling operations. From a practical standpoint, however, that very rarely happens. This location receives a wide variety of traffic from visitors to some of the larger Vegas casinos who happen to wander in to locals who live in this general area of Vegas. The affiliation with the state-wide Gambler's Bonus also makes this a popular destination.

Gaming

The Village Pub & Casino-Wigwam is a limited license facility that houses its maximum allotted fifteen slot, video keno and video poker machines. The majority of these machines are multi-denominational units. Interestingly enough, this group of video poker bar type casinos is apparently unafraid of short-term variance as $10 ($50/bet) is an available denomination on a few of the machines here. These may not be ideal locations for the Video Poker enthusiasts, however, as the paytables tend to be worse than many Vegas resort casinos. This location in particular, even with being limited to fifteen machines, does make effort to swap out their slot machines for newer ones to stay on top of the game. One can presume that might be largely due to the presence of so many nearby casinos, so they have to compete with those players who want to try the newest machines.

Hotel/Accommodations

Unfortunately, the Village Pub & Casino-Wigwam, does not operate a hotel, and these establishments, in general, probably will never build hotels on their premises as their business model is just in being video poker bars catering largely to locals. For those who want to stay at a casino-hotel, however, this location is about a mile Northeast of Green Valley Ranch, three and a half miles Northeast of South Point and six miles West of Sunset Station and Fiesta Henderson.

Dining

The restaurant area for this location is open from 7a.m.-10p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 7a.m.-11p.m. Fri-Sat. These locations have menus downloadable (based on location) on the Village Pub website and the kitchen/bar at this location are both open 24/7.

Entertainment/Nightlife

Unfortunately, these locations don't offer any entertainment aside from the gaming. However, this location is within a few miles of resort casinos such as South Point, Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station, Fiesta Henderson, Sam's Town and Eastside Cannery, so finding entertainment shouldn't be a problem.

Rewards/Deals

This location, as well as all the other ViIlage Pub locations, is home to Gambler's Bonus, which is a points/rewards program that links smaller bar/casinos throughout the entire State of Nevada. These establishments proudly tout on their shared website that they have the best returns of any Gambler's Bonus location.
