The Plaza Hotel & Casino

Dating back to 1971, the Plaza Hotel & Casino has seen many changes, including its newly remodeled rooms. The Plaza is located at 1 Main Street, just off of the Fremont Street Experience, and has many rooms that face the Fremont Street Experience, though one should request a room on the opposite side if one wishes to get to bed before 1:00a.m. The location is right across the street from one of the ends of the Fremont Street Experience which features free nightly concerts, free nightly light shows, and complimentary wireless internet. The Plaza casino is within walking distance of many casinos, including Las Vegas Club (its sister property), Golden Gate, La Bayou, Mermaids, Binion's, Golden Nugget, Fremont and The D. It is also within a mile of other Downtown casinos including El Cortez, Main Street Station, California Casino & Hotel and Downtown Grand. In addition to slots, poker, table games and The William Hill Sportsbook, the Plaza also features the only Bingo room in Downtown Las Vegas. In addition to the many shows, The Plaza offers meeting and events services with catering available, as well as wedding services with a range of prices. Guests during the Summer season can also enjoy one of the best views Downtown from the Plaza's rooftop swimming pool.

Gaming

The Plaza casino features over 600 of the newest slots and video poker machines as well as a high-limit room called, "The Edge." The Plaza is known for having some of the better Video Poker paytables in all of Vegas including a Double Bonus game that returns 100.17% as well as six other games that return over 99% including 9/6 Jacks or Better. The Plaza is also an ideal destination for the Table Games enthusiast featuring twenty table games, including Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, Three-Card Poker and Mini-Baccarat. The Plaza also features three PokerPro electronic poker tables and as of 11/14/2014 advertises a maximum rake of $3. The Plaza also features Downtown Vegas' ONLY Bingo Room with six daily sessions beginning at 11:00a with a new session commencing every two hours henceforward. Finally, The Plaza is home to a William Hill Race & Sports Book location.

Hotel/Accommodations

The Plaza features 1,037 hotel rooms making it the casino featuring the second most hotel rooms in Downtown Las Vegas with only the Golden Nugget featuring more. The Plaza features three room types available on-line, including, Deluxe Rooms, Deluxe View Rooms (Which face North towards The Strip) and Fremont View Rooms (which face the Fremont Street Experience). Rates do not include a $12.00/daily resort fee which includes valet parking, two bottles of water, access to the fitness center, pool access, and a fun book. The Plaza also has a variety of suites and penthouse suites, but those must be booked by calling The Plaza directly as only Deluxe Rooms and Deluxe View Rooms are available on their website. The rooftop pool at The Plaza is open seasonally.

Dining

The Plaza features a few dining options, which include: Oscar's Steakhouse: This steakhouse overlooks Downtown Las Vegas and features, "Oscar's Broads," who act as dinner companions for the restaurants' guests. The Steakhouse is located adjacent to Oscar's Bar and opens at 5:00p daily, with no set closing time, while the lounge opens at 4:00p daily. There is complimentary live musical entertainment on weekend nights. Hash House a Go Go: The Hash House a Go Go features a traditional homestyle menu with a variety of interesting twists and is open from 7:00a-11:00p Sunday-Thursday and 7:00a-1:00a Saturday and Sunday. It is located near the main casino floor just left of the main entrance off Main Street. The Bier Garten: This is a German-style eatery which has not yet opened, according to the Plaza's website, but will open soon with an indoor or outdoor eating venue. Pop Up Pizza: This pizzeria features handmade gourmet pizzas and bar snacks to complete its menu and is open from 11:00a-2:00a daily. The Plaza also features a food court that is open daily from 11:00a-2:00a with an Italian café themed eatery, a Mexican eatery, a McDonald's and a Subway. While there may not be many individual restaurants in The Plaza, the diverse selection of eateries, whether looking for a casual sit-down dinner or eating on the run, will ensure that there is something for everyone.

Entertainment/Nightlife

The Plaza has a showroom which currently features Louie Anderson Live at 7:00p Wednesdays-Saturdays, it's also not unusual to see Louie here and there on the casino floor. Please visit the Plaza's website, or call, to see if this legendary comedian is still performing at The Plaza. Exposure is a late-night cabaret featuring various acts and highlights Las Vegas Strip performers with doors opening at 11:15p and the main show starting at midnight. The Plaza also occasionally features national acts in its showroom. In addition to Oscar's Bar adjacent to Oscar's Steakhouse, The Plaza has a number of bars scattered throughout the casino with most operating 24/7 with free drinks for players actively playing the bartop machines.

The Plaza's Royal Rewards player's club has some of the most generous offers for new members that can be found in all of Vegas. In the past, new members received a slice of pizza for signing up and a free ticket to Louie Anderson Live for earning 100 points within their first 24 hours of Membership.
