Could the Rocky Mountains be just the ones that rock hard? Even though the name might imply so, we beg to differ. Have you ever heard of Deadwood Mountain Grand? This is a hotel and casino resort located in the wondrous Deadwood, South Dakota, and not only it offers some of the most breathtaking views out there, it is also the hardest rocking casino we’ve seen in a long while.
These guys can offer you proper accommodation even if you are a royalty, the casino floor is jam-packed with hundreds of slot machines and a vast selection of table games, and there are two restaurants that will drop your jaw right down to the floor. Sounds interesting?
Well…
…let’s get into further details, shall we?
First of all, we need to mention that Deadwood became an important place for all gamblers as soon as small-stakes gaming became legal. This happened in 1989, when many historic buildings, warehouses, and old storefronts took on their new roles - they became casino, hotels, and restaurants.
Nowadays, we have many venues over there, but the Deadwood Mountain Grand simply stands out above all the rest.
Let’s see why!
Gaming
This is what it’s all about, right? All the crazy amenities and juicy foods are things to write home about, but it’s the casino floor you want to know about…
The main focus is obviously on the
slot machines, as these are always the most popular among players. Over here you can choose from more than 200 different machines, but it’s totally understandable if those are not really your cup of tea.
In that case, you can choose from a wide array of different table games such as Roulette, Craps, Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em, Three Card Poker, and numerous variations of double deck and six deck Blackjack.
Hotel Accommodations
It’s pretty obvious that you will want to stay for a while, so you will need an actual place to stay. They say “take the elevator home”, and it really feels like the best home you’ve never had. Let’s not forget that the resort is located atop the hills, and it provides some rather stunning views of
Deadwood and the surrounding area.
There are almost 100 luxury rooms and five suites to choose from, while the list of amenities on offer is quite a lengthy one.
While staying here, you can enjoy 24-hour access to a fitness room, hot tub, swimming pool, pet friendly accommodations, high speed wifi, ice and vending machines, and the Grand Spa & Salon.
The spa offers a full range of different services, all courtesy of fully licensed massage therapists and cosmetologists.
Are You Hungry?
You can’t really experience this place if you haven’t visited their restaurants! Our first stop is Six String, subtitled Casual Fun Dining, where Chef Aaron Richards resides. Over here you can choose from a vast array of different appetizers, salads, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, and entrees.
Still not casual enough for you? Well, then, you need to be introduced to a place called Santana’s Sports Bar and Grill, where you can enjoy craft beers, house-made margaritas, and a whole menu of delicious goodies, including burgers, fries, waffles, onion rings, steaks, sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and more.
Entertainment/Nightlife
This isn’t exactly the place for those who enjoy spending their time at bars, lounges, and nightclubs, but if you’re into loud live music, you are going to love this place! There are always bands playing live gigs here, so it might be a great idea to keep checking the
event schedule on their official website, so as not to miss anything important.
Rewards/Deals
Of course, it goes without saying - a venue with a reputation like this surely has to have a
rewards program to show some gratitude for the loyalty of its customers. Over here you can sign up for a membership at the Grand Rewards club.
Signing up is free, but you need to be over 21 to enjoy all the goodies and perks the club offers. There are five tiers, and depending on the tier, you will have access to stuff like exclusive promotions, discounts, complimentary meals and drinks, birthday bonuses, and so much more.
The tiers include Base Member, Silver Member, Gold Member, Platinum Member, and Diamond Member.

Good music venue! Food is mediocre. Gaming is on par with rest of Deadwood.
