When you come to Mahe, it’s too celebrate the outdoors – the scenic views, the flora, the beaches. Mahe itself is the largest island in the Seychelles and happily caters to vacationers with its shopping, bars, nightclubs, restaurants, hotels and resorts. Spend days participating in any number of outdoor activities from hiking to deep sea fishing, then head into the casino for a relaxing session of gaming. The casino has just over 1500 sq ft of gaming space, across which you can find 30 classic and video slots and 16 table games which consist of blackjack, 3 card, Texas Hold’em, stud poker and roulette. Perhaps not a wide enough selection for the the mosr ardent of enthusiasts, but enough to keep the casual gamer entertained, especially if they’re keen on cards. You can also find a bar and restaurant on the premises. Pop in for a session of cards and you might just be able to cover those evenings out for drinks and dining.

Hotel/Accommodations

The are no hotels on site, but there are several scattered across the island. 1 km from the casino you can find the Wharf Hotel and Marina. The hotel serves the discerning guest with 15 luxury suites across the ground floor, with either views of the marina or the mountains (Mount Copolia). Rooms come with air conditioning, satellite tv, internet access, king sized beds and verandas. For that extra touch of comfort, ask about the penthouse suite, with private dining room. A personal chef can be arranged to prepare your meals. Room service is available 24 hours as well.

Dining

For fusion meals of Indian, Creole and Asian cuisine, try Aubergine. If it’s seafood you’re after, head to Islander Restaurant. Note, this venue is closed on Sundays. Family cuisine, Creole-style, is served up in Marie Antoinette Restaurant, with menu items like tuna steaks and chicken curries. When you really want bang for your buck, there’s Boat House, with its Creole buffet.

Attractions/NightLife

When you really want to kick your heels up, head to one of the island clubs like Tequila Boom Beau Belle or Lovenut Nightclub. If you’re interested in relaxing to your favourite cocktail, there’s Mystique Bar. The big draw to the island is the beaches. Participate in a wide range of activities like sunning and swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, deep sea fishing and sailing. Arrange your own day out or ask the hotel about excursions. To unwind, consider a romantic midnight moonlit stroll along the shore. For a taste of regional culture, head over to the Natural History Museum and the Codevar Craft Centre. To best appreciate the indigenous flora, there’s the Botanical Gardens, with 75 species of plant. For hiking and fantastic views of the island, there’s Morne Seychelles National Park.
