Villers-sur-Mer is a French commune located in the department of Calvados and in the region of Basse-Normandie, situated on the coast of the English Channel and Houlgate. The population sits just under 3000 people. Viller-sur-Mer is quite possibly your stop-gap en route to neighbouring cities. Paris is around 200 km away, 100 km from Rouen, and about 45 km from Caen. For various, and ever-changing cultural exhibitions head to Villare, located near the church. Admire the Vaches Noires cliffs, a source of fossils and ammonites. View assorted paleontological discoveries in the Paleospace Odyssey. Exhibits include the Normandy marine crocodile. Religious sites include the Church of St Martin, dating back to the 19th century. Local monuments include the dinosaurs situated in the gardens of the tourist office.
