Casino de Roscoff

Roscoff is a French commune in the department of Finistere in Brittany. The population sits just under 4000 people, over 30% of which are over the age of 60. The area serves as both a tourist and retirement destination. Summer residents can climb to 20,000 people. The area has 14 miles of coastline and boasts several white sand beaches. Swim, sail or snorkel the waters or catch some sun on the beaches. If you prefer a less intimate view of marine life, try the local aquarium (the Roscoff Biological Station), part of the University Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC), with its oceanographic observatory. If you’re a fan of architecture, the town has strong architectural roots dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. For nightlife, look for live entertainment in the casino or visit one of the local pubs. For dinners, be sure to sample some of the regional dishes which rely heavily on seafood.

Dine in Le Hublot, indoors or on the terrace, enjoying regional cuisine. Talabardon focuses heavily on seafood dishes while Restaurant du Centre offers traditional fare. For modern cuisine, try Le Brittany, with its vaulted windows and panoramic views and large stone fireplace. Near the hotel, there are several alternate dining venues. Attractions/NightLife

Find all your favourite cocktails in Bar des Jeux, the casino’s central bar. Other bars in the area include Bar le Laber, Café Ty Pierre and L’Albatros. Visit Castle Laber, built in 1890, spread across 50 acres. The local lighthouse dates back to 1934 and reaches 24 m in height. Learn likely more than you ever needed to know about algae in the Discovery Centre of Algae. For marine life, check out the Biological Station with its marine observatory. For a hands-on approach to aquatic life, try snorkelling at one of several nearby beaches, also good for sailing and wind-surfing. Soak up local architecture, dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
