Casino Barriere Ribeauville

Ribeauville is a commune in the Haute-Rhin department and the region of Alsace, located in north-eastern France at the foot of the Vosges Mountains. Locals are called Ribeauvillois. The town has a rich cultural and historical heritage. Be sure to check out some of the medieval homes, old churches, ancient walls and local festivals. This might also be a good time to not only sample some local wines from the Alsace vineyards, but perhaps even pick up a bottle or two to bring home for friends and loved ones. Several festivals also give a nod to the local wine. In the hotel, look for two dining venues – one serving the best of Alsatian cuisine, and the other, light eats. To dine in a relaxed atmosphere, there’s Auberge du Parc Carola or Wistub Zum Pfifferhus. Dine in the contempory bistro Cheval Blanc, the White Horse. Near the town centre, you can find Au Relais des Menetriers, dishing up regional fare.

Attractions/NightLife

Look for live concerts and DJ-spun tunes in the 120-seat casino bar on weekends and Salsa lessons Thursday nights. In total, you can find three watering holes on the resort site. For local bars there’s Le Goupil and Bar des Menetriers. Ribeauville is set amidst the Alsace vineyards, home to many viticulturists. Be sure to sample some regional wines. The local winemaking cooperative, Cave de Ribeauville, dates back to 1895. Check out local festivals throughout the year such as Fete du Kougelhopf in June, Fete du Vin in July, Fete des Menetriers in September and Marche de Noel in December. For religious structures, there’s the churches of St Gregory and St Augustine. Visit the ruins of three local castles – Saint-Ulrich, Girsberg and Haut-Ribeaupierre.
