Casino de la Cote d'Argent

Mimizan is a town in south-western France located in the department of Landes and the region of Aquitaine. The town is divided into what is essentially Mimizan-Bourg and Mimzan-Plage, the residential section and the beach-resort. The area has been coined the ‘pearl of the Cote d’Argent’. Other water-based areas, aside from the beaches and Atlantic Ocean, are Lake Aureilhan and the pond Malloueyre. The beaches are around 10 km long and include (north) Remember Beach, Wings Beach and Garluche Beach, along with (south) Goelands Beach, Seagulls Beach, and Lespecier Beach. For both flora and fauna, head to the national forest of Mimizan.

Gaming

The casino has a fleet of 50 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals, ranging in denominations starting as low as 2 cents and climbing as high as 2 EUR for slots, or 20 cents and 2 EUR for video poker. La Boule (1 table) has a 1 EUR minimum and a maximum of 200 EUR for the high-rollers. Boule runs Sunday through Thursday, Sept to June, from 9 pm until 2 am, until 3 am Fridays, Saturdays and holiday eves, and from 9 pm to 3 am daily July and August. Slots run Sun to Thurs noon to 2 am ad 3 am Fri, Sat and holidays eves Sept to June, and in summers, daily noon to 3 am.

Dining

Dine in the casino restaurant, open all year from noon until 2:45 pm and 7:45 pm until 10:30 pm. Other restaurants in the area include La Cote d’Argent Restaurant, ranked #1 in Mimizan, with its contemporary French cuisine, Le Spot, a creperie, L’escale Gourmande and Le 37. Attractions/NightLife

Find all your favourite cocktails in the casino bar, open noon to 2 am Sunday to Thursday, and 3 am Fridays, Saturdays and holiday eves. During summer, the bar is open daily noon to 3 am. Other bars nearby include L’Orchestra Bar, with its French and Spanish cuisine and wide selection of wines, Pili Pili, Le Bar Americain, Surf Café, and for dancing, Le Mambo and Dark Club. Look for the Festival of the Sea, held annually on May 1st. The Outdoors Festival occurs in August. The local arena hosts Landes races and bull-fights. Historical monuments include 5 pyramids dating back to 1009. Castle Woolsack, built by the 2nd duke of Westminster, dates back to 1911. Local activities include hiking through the forests, cycling, and heading to the beaches for sunning, swimming, sailing and surfing.
