Casino Barrier Leucate

Leucate is a French commune in the department of Aude in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon. Locals are referred to as Leucarois. For something interesting, head to the Cave of Fairies, found near the shores of Leucate Lake. The site was excavated in 1909, then again in 1914 and 1919. Unearthed were various potteries, claw pendants flint knives and several skulls. For something a bit more mundane, yet reassuringly peaceful, take leisurely strolls through Leucate Village’s narrow streets or along sandy beaches. La Franqui has 8 km of golden sand, and the waters for ideal for such activities as windsurfing or kitesurfing.
