Les Sables d’Olonne is a commune in central-western France and is a sub-prefecture of the department of Vendee in the region of Pays de la Loire. The city has around 15,000 people, or about 41,000 including the surrounding metro area. Dining

Dine in the casino restaurant between the hours of 7 pm until 10:30 pm, Thursday through Monday, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Meals consist of traditional French fare. For seafood like shrimp, monkfish, clams, salmon or lobster, try La Pilotine. Maritime-inspired décor is found in Le Clipper. In LouLou Cote Sauvage, enjoy seafood dinners as you look across the sea. La Flambee is a refined bistro located in the market quarter.

Find your favourite cocktails right on the gaming floor in the casino bar The Café. Look for live concerts on Saturdays. For dancing, try Le Cotton Pub, open Wednesday through Sunday after 11 pm. Sip drinks inside or on the terrace in Refuge Club. Bar des Halles is an oyster bar, located 50 m from the central market. Look for live music in Havana Café. L’Ananas Café is open summers. If traveling with family take the kids to Zoo des Sables d’Olonne. For religious sites, there’s the Holy Cross abbey museum, the Notre-Dame de Bon-Port, and the Chapel of Our Lady of Good Hope (built in 1850). Other attractions include the Inter-Conservatory of Music of Olonne, the Museum Association of Sand (with its 15,000 samples of sand from across the world), The Meriniere Rose Garden, the observatory of birds, and the Salt Marshes of Isle d’Olonne.
