Casino de Fécamp

Fecamp is a French commune in Haute-Normandie in the department of Seine-Maritime, on the coast of the Pays de Caux. While once more renowned as a cod fishing port, today, there’s several attractions for the tourist passing through to visit. And, chances are, you’ll be passing through, be it en route to Havre or one of the major cities further out. Some noteworthy monuments would include Eglise Saint-Etienne de Fecamp, the Abbey of the Trinity Fecamp and the Charles de Gaulle memorial, which underwent alterations in 2006. This would also be an excellent opportunity to try various seafood dishes. Be adventurous and order something new. Of course, you’ll likely want to pop into the casino for a session of cards and slots. The casino gets pretty busy and has themed nights, live music and DJs. Dining

Dine in La Croisette, with its panoramic views of the sea. Dishes combine both modern and traditional flavours and lean heavily on seafood and local produce. The restaurant is open daily from noon until 2 pm (2:30 Sundays) and 7:30 pm to 10 pm (11 pm Fridays and Saturdays). Other restaurants include La Maree, providing views of the port and serving seafood dishes, Le Vicomte, and La Marine (also seafood).

Attractions/NightLife

Find all your favourite drinks in the casino bar, open Wednesday through Sunday 8:30 pm to 2:15 am and until 3:15 am Saturdays and the eve of public holidays. Other venues include La Flibuste (a tea room), Le Campbeltown, Bar Big Ben, Café de la Boucane and Reidroc, a beach bar also serving seafood. To check out assorted religious sites, try the Chapel of the Precious Blood or the Abbey of the Trinity. For museums there’s the Discovery Museum of Chocolate, the Museum of Earth Neuvas and Fishing or Benedictine Palace, which opened in 1888. Monuments include the Eglise Saint-Etienne de Fecamp and the Charles de Gaulle memorial. Other attractions include the heritage house, ‘House of the Lily’, and the cliffs of Pays de Caux.
