Overview

Falling from grace is painfully, remarkably easy. A hard-earned reputation, built over years of dedicated work can diminish in a matter days once the news of wrongdoings spread – and in the age of the internet, they spread like wildfire. A casino can ill-afford a scandal so heinous that it tarnishes all that it used to stand for. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened with EatSleepBet Casino, a parlor once esteemed. Which is what motivated us to write this updated review to explain in detail what went wrong (a general disclaimer can be seen at the top of this page).Until late August 2019, what we reported on earlier was still valid:Tons of player incentives, a refreshing take on game lobby with added lottery and sports games and a six-tier loyalty scheme all seemed a guarantee for an online casino that will always stay true to its word. And that’s what it always appears as. Until it doesn’t anymore. The sheer amount of bonuses at players’ disposal was just too good to be believed… …which, in hindsight, seems to have worked as a very effective bait for unsuspecting punters, placing their trust into hands of casino which would go on to perform something truly awful: change their conditions retroactively to fit their newfounded narrative! Specifically, the casino management decided to add a certain country (Thailand) to the list of restricted countries. There would be nothing wrong with that per se, if there wasn’t for a crucial catch: A player from THAT VERY COUNTRY had just won EUR 11,000 at this casino – and was denied withdrawal of this winning! This simply isn’t done. The unfortunate player filed in a very detailed complaint and a description of his case on our Forum and our team has investigated this with priority.

Integrity/Trustworthiness

There can hardly be any talk of any integrity or trustworthiness in situations such as this. EatSleepBet’s loss of both began with the post by a distressed member – at the thread handled by the EatSleepBet Casino’s representative , no less! You know – the Direct Casino Support place where reps should, you guessed it – assist their clients with whatever they may need? We’ll soon get to the gist of this player’s complaint… …with the bottom line being that this hub of gambling purveyance will have hard time clearing their name of this major offence that took place. We don’t know if this was an oversight on one individual’s behalf or part of much wider, terrifying dishonesty. The bet is on the latter. Even after the player filed in a VERY thorough and coherent complained that raises some serious red flags, the casino representative on our Forum was nowhere to be found. This behavior does not leave a lot to the imagination and we are left with no other choice but to conclude that shady business is indeed taking place at this casino. Casino officials have followed suit with this elusive behavior… …and have come up with a host of badly-reasoned arguments as to why our Thai member was barred from the casino AND never given what is rightfully his – the EUR 11,000 cashout that he won after depositing EUR 75. Read on for the lamentable exchange between him and the casino management.

Player Complaints

On August 19th 2019, our member wrote:

“I registered at this casino In June. I filled my information in their form including my country Thailand in the drop down box and everything was fine. I got my first small cashout from them and they asked me to send ID, bill, and my Neteller screen capture. They said all was fine and approved my withdrawal. Later I deposited again with them and had a much bigger win. They asked for more things like my personal picture with my identification in my hand and other things. I send it all. Suddenly, they close my account saying that it is illegal to gamble in my country and that even if their terms don't say my country is not allowed, I am still not allowed!”It was soon made clear that the casino added Thailand to the list of restricted countries AFTER the member had registered with the casino, that tried to provide backing for their act by informing the player it’s illegal to gamble in his country in the first place – which is just incorrect. It gets worse: After some negotiations, the casino agreed to return the total deposited sum of EUR 100 only, saying they won’t pay the winnings they have confiscated baselessly!

The string of bad excuses continued with casino officials professing that players initial withdrawal was very low so they weren’t alerted that his country was on the supposed restricted list. However, that is a very poor attempt at argumentation since the casino verified player’s documents on his first withdrawal and confirmed that everything was in order! They ended this sad practice of unprofessionalism by stating to the player:"Thailand has never been our target market and was always considered a restricted country, it simply went unnoticed that the country was not being listed in our terms and conditions as such, which unfortunately allowed you to sign up, make a deposit and play."All the while, EatSleepBet Casino representative was still gone without a trace!

Conclusion

It is evident, from this entire unfortunate affair, that EatSleepBet is best avoided. Steer clear of places that provide no logical backing of their action and retroactively change their terms to prevent legitimate winners from cashing out their equally legitimate winnings.

The cautionary tale of our Forum member is an infuriating one and goes to show the lengths dishonest casinos will go to con players and rob them of what’s rightfully theirs. This one has crossed the line AND were brazen enough to try and convince their player of something that simply isn’t true. The list of their offenses contained the following:

  • Letting a punter play AND withdraw first winnings, signaling that everything is okay
  • Then, when the said punter wins a big amount, they prevent him from claiming the winnings
  • Removing his country from the list of countries that are allowed in the casino, without prior announcement or any meaningful explanation
  • Continuing to enforce the misdeed through a series of poorly-reasoned replies

Until further notice and until something drastically changes in the way this casino conducts business, it will remain on our Warning list. Plenty of other, legitimate and honest places to play at, our fellow members! Keep an eye out for this space and our prompt warnings lest a similar destiny befalls you.
