Strange Habits Gamblers Have For Luck

Hiya LCB'ers,

Going to the Casino i have seen some pretty crazy habits players have to win. Some of the things i have seen is pressing their palms on a Slot machine, covering up one or all reels when they spin and looking away as they spin the reels or looking down into their lap as they play. But the wildest thing i have ever witnessed was a man sitting next to me and chanting something right before every single spin. I couldn't make out what he was saying because he sorta mumbled it over and over again.

I don't have any special habits when i play or don't wear a particular item of clothes but it has crossed my mind a few times to wear certain rings before i go hoping it will bring me luck!

Do you have any particular habits or have seen any? Would love to hear about them!

I don't have anything in particular that I do but I have seen some craziness. Okay, so I have seen several players do this at the Video Poker machines. They go to multi game machines and click on each game in every denomination before they play. And sometimes they don't even play and just walk away. I would love to know what they think that accomplishes. Anyone know?

More than likely they have never played Video Poker and are curious about the payouts for different denominations. Any new game for the first time can seem intimidating. The first few times i played Slots i couldn't make heads or tails on what was a winning combination. I look back now and think why was that so complicated to understand but it truly is if you have never played before.

I don't have any strange habits. I think it was different at the beginning and I thought it would get only worse, but actually quite opposite happened. I have some.... rituals but nothing unusual.

I've never paid much attention to other people to be honest so I haven't  noticed anything extraordinary. Next time I will be more careful, maybe something interesting happens.

            I was going to start a topic similar to this and it looks like Lips beat me to it.  I know I have to keep my cool  when I go to the Hard Rock here in Tampa 'cause you know they have your ass on camera at every angle imaginable.  But I do kind of a victory dance in my chair with my head and shoulders (must be hysterical if you just walk up and see this)  if I get a major hit.    Now,  where I really go apeshi*  is  at
home when I'm alone with just me and my computer and two dogs.    When I'm playing online,  I will talk to the game,  call out the characters and get out of my seat to do the Bongo Victory Dance if I score big 'specially on a bonus round.  Really dig that.  I'm terrified one day I'll be on You Tube  under something like "Crazy ass online gamer goes for the gold with interpretive dance".

I don't thing that I have some special ritual, well, at least not some weird chant or spell casting
I have seen people who insist on playing the same machine every time, and can actually sit and wait quite a while for their turn.

Yes I've seen that too Lootva and it's very annoying when they stand behind you waiting for you to get up. They watch your credits closer than you do.

You never know if they are creeping you or the machine It's almost always the machine!

I do have a few things that are a must when I play roulette, I have to be on a certain side of the table, I also have to have my purse on my right arm. Lastly I can never look at the ball while it's spinning. I know it's alittle odd, but I can't help it! 

I don't think its weird at all! Gamblers are very superstitious by nature to begin with.
