  • Hey I am not sure if this topic is allowed.

But I am currently 3 years clean after a 4 year addiction to M.

I managed to focus on my family and be a person they could love to get clean, even had another baby which has kept me strong.

Have any of you struggled with addiction? What pulled you through?

  • Hi Joedee Thompsons,

Thank you for sharing your journey, and congratulations on 3 years of being clean—that’s an incredible achievement.

Focusing on your family and finding purpose in your loved ones is truly inspiring and can resonate with many.

  • I had some addiction to drugs, not going back, ever since i got psycosis I will to a 99.9 % not to take any drugs, but still the chance is slim but still there, after being off it for about 2 years, I feel better and stronger than ever, some positive aspects is that it can help you in mostly short term, some things are not classed as a drug, herbs and so on could be benificial in the long term, But most drugs are a no no for me. So I hope you stay sober and wish you all luck out there that has an addiction, it can surpase , so keep your mind settled to focus on life , instaid of substance.

  • Hi guys,

It’s great to hear how committed you are to staying on a positive path after all you’ve been through. This is so motivational for those who are also struggling. Thank you the support and encouragement.

  • Thank you. It was amazing to feel like I was finally at a stage where I didn't want anything but to stay home, be clear headed and enjoy every moment.

My Husband stuck with me through it all, 12 years together and he was so wonderful being a full time Dad while I figured myself out.

I appreciate your kind words :)

  • It's interesting how it has become easier to be positive in everyday life when all the negative that came with using was so bad. I had my car stolen and was used a lot because I wanted to be liked.

But I do hope those who still suffer can learn they are worth more than they think. Even when we feel all is lost, there is always hope.

Every change helps, even if it's small. It was a year of cutting back before I was ready to fully give up but sticking to it, even on my worst days really helped.

Thank you so much for being so kind xo it's something I can truly be proud of.

  • You are so amazing for getting clean. Some times it unfortunately does take getting to our lowest points before we are able to make the changes.

Be very proud of yourself mate, it's hard and you are strong 💪 😉

I honestly feel the same way you do, I could never see myself using again. I have even stopped drinking and the urge to do so has gone too.

But yeah, I'm in a country where my is legal medically which is the only thing I'm on now so 100% agree there :)

I wish you the best! You have the best mindset and I have complete faith in you :)

  • Awww ,thank you, I wish all your family to be well, and that you do your best , that's all you need to do ;)

I hope you stay sober as it's always better in the longrun, and cheaper :D

When did you start and how did you get addicted?

Was it hard to quit the bad habbit in your part?

    Did you seek help?

I give you hugs for getting well, and I hope you do well!

  • Hi guys,

Thank you for sharing your experience. Your story is truly motivating for others who are facing their own challenges. Wish you all the best!

  • Its true, the cost helped quit :)

I started in 2017 and quit in 2021.

Having 2 kids within 2 years, a husband who had some learning to do (which he's helps so much and understands more now) and finding my oldest had low functioning asd at 4 sort of set me off.

After I pretty much slept outside for a year near the end when I was home and not driving people around, I knew I needed to change or I'd never be able to go inside my own house again.

We moved, I cut contact with everyone but one person who I bought a small amount from once each pay for a year before I finally felt I was ready to fully quit.

Unfortunately, her and I stopped talking on unsteady terms but she has smiled and waved when seeing me in public so that's good 😆

I did try to get help but in the end I found talking about it made me crave it more the more I distanced myself.

What about you? How long was your process? It kinda seems like a process to get to to a better place lol so that's the best word I could think of.

Do you have much support?  Do anything to keep you busy? I started playing computer games again :)

Thank you so much for the message.

    Lots of hugs back 🤗

  • Well, I started drinking when I was 13 years old, and later tried M, then it became addictive. So I started to do speed and so on, and now it's time to live, as I hope I can warn other people about these false happiness things. It could feel good in a short period of time , but as I said , long run no good, could even result in the worst case scenario, many don't see the big issues with drugs and their bad habbit involvment. So I hope someday could be talking infront of larger groups and hopefully can save some souls out there. I don't say you shouldn't do it, but only warn about consequences of it.

I hope you do well with family and friends.

What computer games are you playing?

I like to play Bejeweled 3 , i'm rather good at that :)

And some poker online, but i will start to play some serious in february when the limits are gone in my pause.

Wishes you all well and stay healthy!

  • Hey, don't have a lot of time to reply but I have been more into Steam bases games. Especially dead by daylight. It nice playing with others without having to know them at all.

  • I also play on steam, playing a game called "rum and gun"

    Have you heard about it?

I really liked it's like diablo genres, its not expansive either. Only 5 euros on steam when i got it.

Bejeweled 3 plus is an open source version of the game , with many more features, (and free also)

    I also like play poker.

    Texas hold em och omaha

    I hope you are fine!
