Many years ago, back in 2003, I wrote columns for gambling portals. We used better language in those days, choosing gentler terms for those who would pursue the easy bucks available from unregulated casinos through bonus money. Casinos promised then, as they do today, that you (and me), Charlie and Mabel and yes, my mother, could easily make a fortune if we would simply risk our money at their establishments.
The accepted term in those days of enhanced refinement, a term even my mother found acceptable, was 'bonus hunters'. The WR in most casinos was less than a requirement of 10 times playthrough. Needless to say, the 'abuse' as the casinos described bonus hunting behaviour, was rampant. But then, as today, they set the rules and I described in a column or two, the hypocrisy of a casino setting rules that players rigidly adhered to, and then calling them cheaters when the same players successfully hunted and gleefully cashed in!
The descriptive term whore is not only inaccurate, it is offensive! A bonus hunter can be compared justifiably with an owner of a casino. He wants to make money, is willing to adhere to rules, expects to be paid when he wins and, much like a casino owner, he seeks an edge. He isn't a bad guy, he isn't a whore, let's call him a bonus hunter...
Be nice to my mother....stop calling her a 'whore'....

I agree 110% with both of your comments....
the casinos go after your money just as fast and more ruthless....yet, they make the rules..!!!!!
I see numerous people commenting on how they have deposited and gone by''''their rules'''' and yet they will not pay....Players are WHORES ?...not anymore than casinos""PIMP''' their wares...in my books..yet, many delight in going along with calling others nasty names....as in all games...some love to hate....others love to play and be treated just as fair as those who set the rules...what are the odds on that..????????? -

Blueday and Willoweeeee--unsure of the number of e's.
All those years ago I hung out at another forum. There was no compassion on that board. I entered that melee thin skinned and left a war hardened veteran. Some of the posters read my columns and only those totally without mercy commented. I bled profusely but survived long enough to feel like a friend to some of them.
My point is...I am not conditioned to positive replies! I'm glad both of you agree...we are players looking for an edge. The one casino argument I had trouble with was their claim that bonus hunting viloated the spirit in which the bonus was offered, supposedly as a way to become familiar with a specific casino. Well, upon reflection that argument actually violated the spirit of integrity between players risking their money and casino owners desperately in need of that money to survive. They offered bonus money to attract players. Familiarization was way down the line...
I often wondered why the owner of MediaSoft paid me to dissect the highly suspect casinos that he promoted on his portals. Well, he finally stopped paying me...and no one has offered me that opportunity since...
Thanks for agreeing...wonder if the 'top dog' on this forum will....?

Gamblewriter............
I live very close to St Louis and several casinos. I gage my experiences between those casinos and these online....they[the real casinos] offer specials, but when they do, it's not free chips with rules out the yang, yang...it is cold hard cash... players go, place their wagers...whether slots, cards etc...then you WIN OR LOSE...no play through or maximum...if you win and go to the cashier, your claim is verified and then paid...
I have been playing online since BEFORE the freebies...I actually won $3,000, and 2,700 another time....my money was sent within a week. I also lost money...I appreciate the casinos that give nd chips and do honor their word to pay when a player has met the requirments set forth....
Using the excuse of"""WHORING""" is no excuse to not pay when requirements are properly met, and I have heard of players telling us that they cannot get paid.....This slang can be used both ways...but to use it to identify blindly is lower than a snake's poo in a wagon rut....{old Texas slang and fits here}....the old saying...CHEATERS NEVER WIN AND WINNERS NEVER CHEAT...goes for both sides too.... -

Hmmm....didn't mean to make you sad, blueday! Sorry, maybe I should have read the rules. My only experience with a gambling forum was "another forum" and they actually encouraged posters to include personal 'links'. Many of the posters on that forum were portal owners. Max, the moderator of this forum at the time, had no objection but, interestingly, I never posted a link...there. Then why would I post a seven year old link...here? Just thought there might be some interest in those old columns....
But, apparently there is a rule and I stand corrected...but, doesn't seem to be cause for sadness...the road continues on.... -

Thank you, blueday and Imagin.ation (period in wrong place, more than likely)...
I confess! I can be a problem for several reasons...only one of which I will reveal. I ask questions and I tend to be overly exacting. I am attempting to overcome the exacting flaw...since I require much more (exactitude) than I offer...though I am quick to admit when I have misbehaved...accountability being a good thing.
I have looked for the 'rules'...being aware that I have already violated one of them..but can't find them! Will someone direct me to where they are located so that I may avoid further transgressions?
Also, someone has done a marvelous piece of work with this site! I'm wondering who that someone is? I see that blueday is a Grand Moderator (hope I have that correct). No one is saying that one must bow and scrape to he/she who is responsible for the site, but a certain decorum is owed to that person ....or his/her representative.
So 'rules are where'...and who is responsible for having put all this together? Knowing the first might allow me to avoid being chastised again by the second....thanks! -

Hi gamblewriter,
I cannot find any "written" rules but I think it's common knowledge that you [in general...not you] should not post "non forum" links in forums like this.
As for the big bosses on the site, LCB Admin and Zuga are the two main men. Oh - and its a "she" for me as global mod.
I have to say, I enjoy reading your posts as you clearly have a way with words and I'm looking forward to reading more of them.

Thank you blueday! I love books and the written word! I searched mightily for a wife (I ran a singles club for twenty-six years and met thousands of women, thereby giving substance to that 'search' part above) and when I found the right one she was justifiably circumspect regarding my potential to settle down. I am more literate than verbal, so, when I couldn't win her over with the spoken word, I presented her with a couple of things I'd written and, lo these last nineteen years, we have done as originally agreed, she stands there and looks good and I provide the entertainment...seems to be working...though I am a bit long in the tooth compared to the young thing I hang out with....
I do like to stir things up a little now and then. I have an extensive background in the online gaming industry and believe it should be regulated. I am a bit worried regarding a post by someone 'really high' up on this site...but I'll save that controversy for another day....
Thanks again! You (especailly you and Imagina.tion) and others have made me feel welcome. I'll be around awhile...hopefully! -

Thank you blueday, tyesmommy and acqofer--
the days of enhanced refinement refer to 2000 to 2003 when I wrote columns for MediaSoft, and hung out at another gambling website where, in contradiction of 'the days of enhanced refinement' I was brutalized on a daily basis. Most of the damage was done by an English man using the handle 'Caruso'. Brilliant guy with seventeen different ways of coming at me, and each shielding a poised verbal stiletto...however, this thread started because of my objection to the word 'whore' as descriptive of usually BJ business guys looking for the same edge that is inherent and always available to those at the other end of our money path, 'the casino owners'....Do they cheat? I believe they do...it seems impossible to constantly lose or push hands while holding 'twenty'....this other gambling site was replete with casino shills....and, I could never make up my mind whether 'Caruso' was one of those. He was despoiled, defiled, venomous....but absolutely brilliant. I would have cut my tongue out before saying this seven years ago...but, now, I kinda miss him....Thanks for asking! I feel better now..... -

Oh i love how you see the good in the evil, and can bring forth an admittance! Thats brilliant yourself, i must say...you remind me of someone i once knew, someone that was very good in my life, who has gone away.. your style and me reading all this.. just brought forth memories. Thank You for that.. though you probably don't even know what you did lol
Glad to see you here gamblewriter, looking forward to more -

Imagina.tion--happy to bring that person back if only in a brief way. I have the sense that I need to cease amplifying and harness my tendency toward 'I'm here now, please, please hear me'....the words just flow and when I read them ...they seem to 'beg notice'...well, that is not what I am about....so, I will recede partially into the dwork and seek a comfortable place...while appreciating the offerings of others...I feel welcome and that is enough for now.....in keeping with my subdued presence...never hit 13 or more with dealer showing 2 through 6....never, ever split 10's unless you count and know absolutely what you're doing...and, just to keep me from raging tantrums...never spell 'lose' this way ...'loose'.....ok...ok...I'm going....
