You might think you’ve heard it all, but something tells me you haven’t heard anything quite like this before. We’ve got a doozy of a story to share, and you may have to pick your jaw up off the floor when you’ve finished reading.
All of us can safely say we are familiar with mannequins. We’ve all seen them at one point or another, whether that be in a clothing store, a haunted house, or perhaps even in your own home. Sure, there can be an air of eeriness about them, and for some, they can be on the same level as clowns or dolls on the creep factor scale. However, did you ever think you’d come across the words ‘mannequin’ and ‘lawsuit’ in the same sentence? No? Didn’t think so.
Well, the time has come, and the two words are, indeed, being used in the same sentence, due to a player’s recent experience at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Just recently, Kent Jacobs Boutwell, of Southern California, had a unique run-in with a mannequin inside the casino. Upon entering his unlit room one night, he noticed the outline of what appeared to be another human being; and, needless to say, he hadn’t been bunking with any guests during his stay. The silhouette scared him to the core, so much so, that he immediately fled the room, acquiring injuries along the way. According to a report, the individual obtained injuries to his “body, limbs, organs, mind and nervous systems, resulting in conditions that may be permanent and disabling.”
So, what was this mysterious, shadowy figure he encountered in his room? A mannequin dressed in a Miller Lite racing suit. Oh, and it was also locked in a glass case. Boutwell’s next move was, of course, to file a lawsuit against Caesars Entertainment.
Boutwell’s lawyer, Richard Johnson, commented, “I’ve got some experience handling hotel casino cases, but this was certainly a new set of facts.”
