Hard Rock International is readying their brand-new Atlantic City Hotel and Casino Resort that will be built on the old venue where Trump Taj Mahal used to be. The grand opening is scheduled for June 28th and it promises to be a spectacular event in the completely overhauled property with more than $500 million invested into the exterior and interior. The Resort will have more than 300 nights of live music per year, with some of the leading artists already booked to perform, such as: Steely Dan, Kid Rock, Amy Schumer, Blake Shelton, Stone Temple Pilots, Counting Crows and so on.
One thing that was missing was the official license by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission – until now that is, because Hard Rock officials have just announced that the license has been obtained, which effectively obliterates one final hurdle before the opening party begins. The license has been granted to Hard Rock Atlantic City this Wednesday.
The opening of a spectacular new venue signals something of a Renaissance for Atlantic City whose casino offer has been on a downward spiral in the last few years, with many gambling halls closing down. What is expected to further accelerate the rebirth is another opening scheduled for June 28th, and that is Revel, aka Ocean Resort Casino.
Hard Rock Atlantic City will be located right next to the legendary Boardwalk and will feature over 2100 slot machines. Together with Ocean Resort, hard Rock will employ 6500 people, which restores a major part of the jobs lost when in 2014 five casinos went out of business. Atlantic City's Mayor, Frank Gilliam, is of the opinion this opening will create a huge turn of events in city's favor: “It's a game changer. Hard Rock is going to be phenomenal for Atlantic City. Not because it’s another casino but because their culture, what their brand is about, is what this city needs.”
Chief operating officer at Hard Rock International is impatient to get the Resort going. “What we have in store is going to blow people away. It’ll be a boost for the reinvention of Atlantic City.”
