Group of Burglars Attempt Raid at Bellagio Jewelry Store

The Bellagio Hotel & Casino in LAS VEGAS recently experienced a burglary scare. A group of burglars broke into the facility’s high-end Rolex store, located in the basement. It's reported that the group of individuals, one of which was seen wearing a pig mask, used a sledgehammer to break into the store.

First mistaken for an active shooter scenario, the burglary was ultimately put to a stop by police, with the entire resort placed on lockdown for about 30 minutes. Following further investigation, police revealed that at least three individuals were involved, and there were NO injuries.

Despite the police ultimately obtaining control of the situation, it did not go without wreaking havoc on the guests inside the facility at the time. Some witnesses recounted their perspective on what happened. A woman who identified herself as Kira, a 21-year-old from California, described a man in all black, guarding the exterior of the Rolex store, as she exited the restroom. She was even able to snap a picture of the man before making a run for it with a friend.

She recalls, “He was screaming at people, pointing his gun, making sure that anyone who was close just got away.”

Upon reaching the exterior of the building, Kira claims to have seen the man being taken away by police, a detail the department has yet to confirm.

In another account of the burglary, a 50-year-old man, Chris, recalls hearing the sound of gunshots while playing poker above the Rolex store.

He reported, “I ran around the corner and I heard two shots, ‘bang, bang.’ When I looked back, everything was already chaos.”

Chris added, “You'd never think of anyone bringing a gun in here. It’s like old wild west stuff. But you know, Vegas, it's all types of stuff that happens here.”
