The final days of spinning for Power, Extra Power, Super Power and Ultimate Power jackpots are drawing near. As an affiliate, we’ve been getting notification emails from casino partners and it’s with a heavy heart, we bring you the news that Playtech’s Marvel slot games will no longer be available for real money play after March 31st.
Disney bought the Marvel Comics brand in 2009 and made the decision not to continue in the gambling industry. The only issue was the active licensing contracts with years remaining. Cryptologic first enticed us with branded games and was the first contract to expire. We waved goodbye to Crypto but all was not lost as Playtech launched its own series of classic comic slot games including Iron Man, Fantastic 4, The Incredible Hulk, Ghost Rider, X-Men, Captain America and more.
As difficult as this is to get through without shedding a tear, we suggest you play now and cry later. There’s only about 1 week of spinning left before Disney’s magical reputation is restored.
Lucky for us, Playtech won’t have us living a comic free life. The provider teamed up with Warner Bros. in February 2017 and as a result, they announced a new generation of slot games based on “Batman & The Joker Jewels, Batman & Catwoman Cash, Batman & The Penguin Prize, Batman & The Batgirl Bonanza, Batman & The Riddler Riches, and Batman & Mr. Freeze Fortune. In addition, Playtech has also launched slot games inspired by the hit films Man of Steel (2013), Green Lantern (2011), Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980)”. Green Lantern is already live at Playtech casinos.
Well, there you have it. Are you heartbroken to see Marvel slots go? Do remember when you first discovered them? Share your experiences here with us.
