Entropay Cancels VISA In Norway And Outside EEA

Back

There have been some changes regarding Entropay due to the newly imposed restrictions on card issuers, and certain European citizens will have to say goodbye to their virtual VISA.

As of November 1st, the payment service will no longer be able to provide support (read: issue virtual Visa cards) to people living outside of the European Economic Area and to the residents of Norway. The change will manifest accordingly:

  1. If you reside outside of the EEA or in Norway, all of your Entropay cards will be cancelled and permanently deleted. All remaining funds on your cards will be deposited into your Entropay wallet
  2. For those who live outside of the EEA or in Norway, it is no longer possible to top up Entropay cards from debit or credit cards (August 13th, 2018)
  3. Money will still be transferable from the wallet to a bank account or to a valid debit or credit card, as there are no deadlines to cashing out
  4. Entropay cards will be deleted on November 1st, but Entropay wallet will remain active

Pending Payments Perhaps?

If yes, you should replace your Entropay cards immediately to avoid service disruption. Check all recurring payments (for example, with a streaming service such as Spotify or Deezer) and take action! The recent developments are outside of Entropay’s domain, and the company apologizes to its users for any inconvenience.

Furthermore, the user’s account is not affected if the address in their Entropay account is in one of the following countries of the European Economic Area (excluding Norway):

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.

In case you need to switch to another banking option, feel free to look around and make a pick.
