Cyprus has introduced another important measure in making the gambling environment safer and more stable. The country has just disclosed its groundbreaking National Self-Exclusion Platform (PSC), having a mission to help all gamblers find their way through the favorite activity and keep having fun while taking care of personal needs and well-being.
All the new platform has been introduced and run by National Betting Authority as part of the Safer Gambling Strategy 2022-2025. As part of the mission, it will enable users to exclude themselves, either for a limited timeframe or permanently, based on their preferences and needs.
By excluding themselves from the gambling activity, they will be able log into their accounts and withdraw money they have already paid with the specific brand.
Commenting on the brand-new platform, Ioanna Fiakkou, National Betting Authority President, says this is a super tool for all users helping them to foster healthy betting atmosphere while also protecting different groups that may be prone to harm.
The introduction of the National Self-Exclusion Platform shows the dedication of the body to keeping safe and sustainable atmosphere for gamblers with the fair surrounding.
From the very beginning, this platform was only serving operators holding Class B license but it then became more dynamic, providing better functionality and features. This enhanced protection was even more important, turning betting experience into enjoyable and smooth activity for every interested gambler.
As for the scope of the new platform, it’s also worth mentioning the process of exclusion. Everything is free and applies to all the sorts of betting services and brands. It means that users will not be able to play on their active accounts as well as to open new accounts.
Commenting on the platform, Fiakkou says they are making a call to all included parties including athletes to stay in regular collaboration with their federations and state authorities.
This step will boost their efforts against match manipulation and boosts transparency in sport, one of their main priorities for the country.
They are happy that another significant step has been made and that more similar measures will come into play while keeping on eye their safer gambling strategy and taking care of protection while fostering such fair measures. This will also reduce the gambling harm and boost the sustainability of the whole industry taking it into new and better direction.
Cyprus will be only one country with this goal and more states including BetStop in Australia will also release their measures towards the same goal.
