bgo Bingo Abandons Wagering Requirements?

It seems like, slowly but surely, the new taxing regulations from the UK Gambling Commission regulations are coming into effect, much to players’ delight. As you may know, Britain’s supreme gambling regulator is investigating terms and conditions that are clearly not in in favor of players – and wagering requirements are often just that.

As a result, the bingo division of bgo has announced that, beginning October 15th, they will be removing minimum wagering requirements on bonuses – from that point on, bonuses will be paid out in real cash or will consist of free spins with no wagering. This means it’s time to wave goodbye to the highly unpopular 50x wagering requirements for slot and casino game bonuses! This move is very much welcomed and has been in the making for some time now: most bingo and casino operators refused to listen to players’ complaints regarding the wagering requirements, but it’s a completely different thing when a country’s official gambling regulator threatens to fine you financially if you don’t do something about it.

Allan Turner, BGO Entertainment’s CEO, comments: “We’ve not taken this decision lightly. The recent changes to the regulatory environment in the UK means we are spending time with various parties, be it the UKGC, the CMA, ASA and then of course the players themselves. The bonus issue is something that is continually discussed and we are at a cross-roads where we need to make the right decision for both the company and the consumer. If we have evidence players find wagering conditions confusing or unfair, then that’s enough for us to take a decision. We have always run a safe, trusted and fair online casino and player enjoyment is and always will be our number one priority. Hopefully bgo can demonstrate to the industry that restrictive bonus wagering conditions are not the way to go and we can make them a thing of the past.”
