So it’s official. Microgaming holds the Guinness World Records title for the ‘Largest jackpot payout in an online slot machine game (nominal)’.
Back on October 6, 2015, Betway player Jonathan Heywood of the UK hit Microgaming’s Mega Moolah progressive jackpot banking £13,213,838 (€17,879,645.12) with a conservative 25p bet.
The win has gone through a lengthy review process involving Betway, Microgaming and eCOGRA, before the results could be confirmed.
A spokesperson for Guinness World Records said, “I’m pleased to confirm that the Guinness World Records title for the largest jackpot payout in an online slot machine game is €17,879,645.12, which was won by Jonathan Heywood, while playing Microgaming’s Mega Moolah on Betway's website.”
