Tablets More Amusing Than Debates For French MPs

Back

Photographers in the French Assembly's press balcony snapped photographs of "députés", ie. MPs, some of them being Ministers, using their tablet devices to indulge in online shopping, playing games and online poker via free Parliamentary WiFi.

Amongst other unrelated Parliamentary activities and in order to stave off the boredom of long Parliamentary debates the same MPs also flouted the photography ban rules by furtively taking snaps in the hemicycle.

They are now being described as "like vulgar tourists".
