France, Italy, Portugal and Spain's regulatory bodies decide to work together for better market

A crucial meeting for the European online gambling was held in Barcelona in June, when the four European online gaming regulators from France, Italy, Portugal and Spain met to discuss cooperation and further measures for better service.

On the occasion, ARJEL, AAMS, Santa Casa Da Misericordia de Lisboa and the DGOJ agreed that they share the same objectives in protecting consumers against fraud and criminal activities, preventing addiction, assuring the integrity of the game and fighting illegal gambling.

Therefore, they decided to form a regulatory strategy in order to lay down the foundation for information exchange in the case of operators who are licensed in more than one jurisdiction, the fight against illegal operators and improved information on the protection of personal data. The four regulators apparently also discussed the possibility of a shared liquidity in certain games between some of them.

In addition, they plan to spread the cooperation to other European countries with similar regulatory principles and strategies, so more discussions can be expected in a meeting scheduled to be held in Paris at the end of the year.
