A news briefing held by the Ministry of Public Security this week addressed the topic of a June 2010 campaign, whose aim was to eliminate the websites whose offer included illegal trade services.

It was stated at the briefing that the police raids in the five months until Oct. 2010, resulted in cessation of operations of 2500 which offered illegal trade services (including online gambling).

The ministry further added that the police actions throughout the country found and disposed of more than 1.4 million online posts or messages, dealt with over 4000 criminal cases, arrested about 7000 suspects and destroyed more than 660 dens.

The campaign will continue.
