Five Hand Pontoon is a game of Pontoon that is offered to players who are members at any Playtech online casino. This is very similar to the classic game of Pontoon, the only difference being that the players in this version of the game have a higher chance of winning.
The game of Pontoon – 5 Hand involves a lot of strategy and is not simply a game of luck. It is for this reason that players are offered the chance to play a free version of the game at Playtech casinos. Players can use the free version of the game to understand how to play as well as develop an effective strategy.
In 5 Hand Pontoon, the player plays with up to five hands simultaneously. Each of these hands is individually playing against the dealer to determine a winner, which means that the player has many more chances to win.
Players begin the game by placing bets on each one of the five hands. These bets are placed using coins of value between $0.01 and $100. The player is then dealt five visible hands and he/she must make decisions regarding each of the hands individually. Once all the five hands have finished playing, the hands are compared with that of the dealer.

Interesting game here! Much different from the standard blackjack game, in this game one must adopt a different strategy to win. The 5-card win is a plus, and the hitting of hands is different, too.

Pontoon seems like a strange proposition for blackjack players - why on earth would you want to play blackjack without being able to see either of the dealers cards? Of course there are many rules which favour the player intended to balance out this obvious disadvantage, for example any five card hand wins by default ('five card trick'), and that hand plus a 'Pontoon'/Blackjack both pay 2:1, and you are also able to hit after doubling down, should you wish. You might expect that the player would win ties, but that is not the case - a push results in a dealer win. The overall house edge is surprisingly very low at around 0.34pc, so its worth a try as a change from blackjack in that regard, though personally I would prefer to play Spanish 21 or Double Exposure if those games are available.
