Jack Tar Village Casino

Named after Christopher Colombus’ patron saint, St Christopher, after he (Colombus) discovered the island, it was later shorted to simply St Kitts. It’s part of a 2 island country – St Kitts and Nevis. If you enjoy beaches and water activities this is a nice little place to visit. While the island could be walked in about a day, spend time taking in the beautiful outdoors, including the volcanic mountain, Mount Liamuiga. It’s just shy of 4000 feet and makes for some interesting hiking.

The casino presents humble offerings with their just 50 classic and video slots and video poker terminals and 6 table games. The table games consist of blackjack, baccarat, craps and roulette. While there may not be quite enough here to satisfy the most enthusiastic of gamblers, it’s a good way to spend some R and R indoors after long days at the beaches, and really, people come here are for the beautiful island outdoors rather than the casino – it just happens to be a nice little perk.

Hotel/Accommodations

The hotel offers an all-inclusive package which include all your drinks (including alcoholic) and meals, accommodations, green fees, access to and use of their facilities (2 swimming pools, tennis courts, 2 private beaches, scuba lessons in the pool, and non-motorized water sports) and house wine with dinners. There are 108 standard rooms (2 double beds or one king), or 162 superior rooms (2 doubles or one king as well). Some rooms have private terrace or balcony (pool, golf, garden or lake view) and other amenities. Ask staff about specific room details as well as planned activities on site. Restaurants, bars and live entertainment can be found on the resort.

Dining

Look for international buffets in Topaz, serving breakfasts 7 am until 10:30 am (continental 6:30 am to 11 am), lunches from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm and dinners 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Italian cuisine is served in Caruso, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Diners can enjoy their meals out on the terrace overlooking the lake. Note, this venue is not open 7 days a week. Ask staff for further details. Step off the resort and head into town for more restaurants serving regional cuisine. Ask staff for tips on places popular with tourists and locals or wander about finding your own new favourite venue.

Entertainment/NightLife

Find your favourite cocktails in the Cabana Beach Bar and Grill, open daily early until late, also with live piano music and grilled light eats from noon to 4 pm. Other venues include the Piazza Bar and Grill, the Batik Bar and Grill and Tropics Disco. Other bars/clubs on the island include Eclipse Bar and Monkey Bar. The resort allows guests using their all-inclusive package the use of their facilities like golf and tennis and runs various planned activities. Look for volleyball, scuba lessons in the swimming pool, snorkelling and windsurfing. There are 2 pools and 2 private beaches for sunning and swimming. Live entertainment is also available so ask staff about everything on their event calendar. On the island, there’s further access to water sports like sailing, snorkelling and scuba diving. Attractions include the Fairview Great House & Botanical Garden, the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park and St Kitts Breweries Ltd. If you’re feeling ambitious, there’s hiking up Mt Liamuiga. Various music festivals run during the year and if you happen to be travelling here around Christmas, look for Carnival.
